The little Strawberry print party dress had come together in early Spring but had not found just the right venue until the invitation arrived.  There was a picture of a bear, eight circles, not including the big eyes, with instructions to meet at Bear’s place at 11:00 to celebrate his birthday.  Also, it requested, please bring your own bears.

With fabric brought back from Japan and a French pattern (the Honorine by Citronille) that travelled across another ocean, the dress had found its place here in New York.  What else could this dress ask for but a Bear fete to feel that it had finally arrived?

The little girl put on the dress, did several twirls in it, and chose sparkly shoes (what else) to wear with it.  She brunched, excited about where she would go afterward, barely (ahem) able to eat.

After brunch, it was time to head a few blocks away, to where the Bear lived.  The girl and the dress flounced and bounced and jumped down the city street until it arrived at the building.

In the elevator, the little girl pressed her own Bear to her chest, hugging him and the present she had made for Birthday Bear close in anticipation.

The doors opened up into Bear’s apartment.  They had arrived.

I’m playing catch up over the next week or so with all the many Corner Views that I missed after Miss Genevieve was born.  Thank you to the Corner Viewers who have been coming around here lately and commenting even though I was taking some time to be with the baby.  Corner Viewers from around the World:
