Happy Weekend!

04 September 2009 Filed In: shout out

We’re off to Chicago this weekend to visit our new baby niece/cousin, Kaylin, our big boy (well, he is two and three quarters) nephew, Ari, and our sweet brother and sister-in-law. Knowing Mister Ari as I do, we’ll probably be cooking up something good this weekend.

Happy Weekending to you! Here are some faves around the web that I cannot wait to try, wear and listen to, when I’m not just sitting around looking at my niece, that is:
*Jo’s peanut butter banana bread: yes, please!
*La Tartine Gourmand’s lovely tomato millefeuilles (which I plan on making with roasted tomatoes). Perfectly in season. Chicago farmer’s market, here we come.
*Cosmic girl’s foodie necklace, in her etsy store. Cuteness.
*And a little Ingrid Michaelson for the road. Can’t get so many of her songs out of my head-and I mean that in a good way.

Happy Weekend!

08 November 2008 Filed In: all the rest

For the first time in months, we have very little planned this weekend.  I cannot wait to play with my family, snuggle with my husband, and try some recipes from around the web.  Here are some of the things that we’ll be cooking up:

*This Kid-friendly broccoli soup from Artisan Sweets will help us eat our green stuff.
*This Indian breakfast poha from Cookbook Catchall will satisfy my obsession over topping everything with a fried egg.
*These chic apple dumplings at Dalla Mia Cucina.
*And, finally, this luscious looking Bacon and Chestnut Risotto via Taste Bud Travels.
Happy Weekend!

Cate you are so sweet to mention my apple dumplings. Thank you!! I hope you do make them and enjoy some comfort before your schedule gets more hectic. I have 4 kids and can only bake when the three are at school. They wrap themselves around our legs and make it hard to move in the kitchen. My preschooler loves helping in the kitchen though.. and she even likes to help me clean up! 🙂
Take care and have a great weekend!
